The core competencies in the Southern Region comprise sensor technology, chip and PCB technology, as well as the software and IT sectors in medical technology. An integral part is the know-how of existing universities, research institutions and companies in the fields of materials, manufacturing and process technology.

PHARMA & BIOTECH
The regional strengths of this sector lie in pharmaceutical and biotechnological processes, automation and production, and engineering and plant design. This thematic focus is completed by bioinformatics, big data analytics and biomarker research, which form the basis for the development of new pharmaceuticals.
